Seabourn Venture Awe-Inspiring Inaugural Expedition Voyage

Our newest ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, is getting ready to sail her inaugural voyage and we want to invite guests to be among the first to sail on board as she explores remote, seldom-visited ports and islands around the United Kingdom and Norway on her highly anticipated 12-Day Northern Isles & Viking Homeland adventure. Departing July 15, 2022 from Tilbury (London), England before arriving at Tromsø, Norway, on July 27, 2022, our guests will experience an awe-inspiring itinerary packed full of cultural treasures and adventure, all guided by our expert 26-person Expedition Team.

Highlights include:

Visiting the Orkney Archipelago, a group of islands just north of Scotland and scattered among the North Sea. Featuring tall sandstone cliffs and blanketed in a tapestry of emerald moss, the islands are home to the relics of ancient Neolithic cities, including the UNESCSO World Heritage Site Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar, and Skara Brae settlement — all equally impressive sights on this remote island. Stepping ashore in Kirkwall, the island’s largest town, guests can spend time exploring hidden alleyways and historic buildings in town and visiting world-renowned whisky and gin distilleries.

Traveling to Shetland Islands, an explorer’s paradise, comprised of soaring cliffs, crystal sea lochs (lakes), and windswept beaches. Our guests will most likely be joined by local wildlife on their explorations of this spectacular natural destination, including waddling puffins, playful otters, and swimming orcas off the coast — not to mention namesake Shetland ponies in green pastured farms. The dramatic coasts of these intimate Scottish Isles offer guests the perfect backdrop for days of expedition. They may explore the wildlife and timeless artifacts of Fair Isle — where 70 inhabitants live in traditional crofts and the rest of the island is covered with sheep and birds — and Mousa with the best-preserved Iron Age tower in existence, before sailing on to the capital of Lerwick. Although guests are technically still in Scotland in the Shetland Islands, they’re actually closer to Norway than the United Kingdom when they step ashore.

Additional highlights include:

  • Entering Nordfjord, where the small towns of Loen and Olden sit at its terminus. Guests may visit the glaciers that carved these valleys, take a cruise along Loen Lake, or ride the Loen Skylift for hikes or walks atop the mountains.
  • Exploring the beautiful Art Nouveau city of Ålesund.
  • Seeing Trollfjord, one of Norway’s most renowned fjords, that is a mere 100-meter (300 ft) in width and surrounded by 1,100-meter (3,600 ft) peaks. It truly is a sight to behold.
  • Admiring the old Hanseatic wharf and UNESCO site in Bergen.

Guests will enjoy a wide range of included excursions and expeditions — hiking, Zodiac® cruising, walking tours — at nearly every destination Seabourn Venture will visit. In addition to our complimentary excursions, Seabourn will offer optional shore excursions — such as An Evening Orcadian Ceilidh or Kirkjuvagr Gin Distillery Craft Making Experience in the Shetland Islands.

Optional expeditions such as kayaking and two custom-built submersibles will be offered at select destinations. These experiences will provide close-up views of wildlife and natural scenery, as well as unforgettable intimacy with the underwater wonders of the ocean.

Don’t wait to invite guests to join us to sail northward to lands of fairytale castles, majestic fjords, and remote wildlife islands and discover the hidden gems of the British Isles and beyond, on board Seabourn Venture’s maiden voyage. Book this not-to-be-missed adventure of a lifetime now.
