Seabourn's Caribbean: Uncommon Experiences in an Exceptional Destination

Since the first time Seabourn traversed the Caribbean we have had an ongoing romance with the pleasures of cruising in the region. We are proud to show our guests the quality experiences and hospitality again this year that have made it a premier travel destination. Our intimate ships deliver guests to the unspoiled, uncrowded Caribbean ports long favored by international yachtsmen, and inaccessible to larger ships. We call these places our Uncommon Caribbean, and they are ready and waiting to provide your clients with an unforgettable vacation this season. A few examples and highlights:

Butterfly-shaped Guadeloupe, Basse-Terre is decidedly French in aspect. Its Cathedral is a national monument of France, and a hike on a rainforest trail to the Carbet waterfalls leads to a refreshing plunge in its pool.

Cap Cana, on Hispaniola's north shore, was developed to allow the island's most luxurious resorts to take advantage of the gorgeous beaches. It provides quite a contrast to Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the Americas.

Charlestown, Nevis holds the birthplace of (recent Broadway sensation) Alexander Hamilton. The local architecture favors wooden second stories built over stone ones after long-ago earthquakes.

Frederiksted, on St. Croix's leeward side has the best beaches, the 18th-century Fort Frederik, and a Victorian charm resulting from restoration after a disastrous fire in 1878.

Charlotteville is a charming fishing village on Tobago's Man O' War Bay, relaxed and old-fashioned. Glass-bottomed boats visit the nature refuge of Little Tobago island, and Flagstaff Hill offers breathtaking views.

Fort-de-France, on lovely and lush Martinique, is the Paris of the Caribbean. Fashionable Martinique women proudly wear colorful calendée headwraps in tartan patterns. La Pagerie plantation was the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte's Empress Josephine.

Port Elizabeth, Bequia is a favorite of "yachties." This is one of the few islands whose name, meaning "Island in the Clouds," is from the native Arawak language. A harborside walkway leads to Princess Margaret Beach (her favorite).

Mayreau is the only inhabited one of the Tobago Cays, a ring of islets encircling one of the Caribbean's most favored yachting harbors, a national park of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

The steep hills surrounding St. George's harbor made Grenada a port for "careening" tall ships. This is the Spice Island: locally grown cloves, cinnamon, bay, nutmeg, mace and allspice make a fragrant and memorable souvenir or gift.

Antigua claims a different beach for every day in the year, and some of the Caribbean's most luxurious resorts are around St. John's. Take in the view from Shirley Heights and explore the boutiques and restaurants that occupy Nelson's Dockyard.

The Îles des Saintes are an unspoiled cluster of small islands off Guadeloupe's coast. You may be surprised to find quality French cosmetics offered informally by sidewalk vendors on Terre-de-Haut, but you are in France!

These and other highlights await your clients, and just as they do on every Seabourn voyage, our award-winning shipboard staff is dedicated to ensuring your clients a casually elegant onboard experience that exceeds their expectations.
